What’s Ellen Degeneres’s Interest in the Girls of Ally McBeal?

Posted under Free for All & Anne Heche & Ellen DeGeneres & Calista Flockhart

As if organizing a heterosexual wedding doesn’t present problems enough, getting it together for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi must really create problems.

Firstly, who wears the wedding dress and who wears the tux?

Who gives the bride away and does the groom also need ‘giving away?’

Who’s hand is on the top when cutting the cake?

I now pronounce you, wife and wife?

When the guests arrive at the venue, do you ask, are you with the bride or the…..um, bride?

But all that hasn’t dissuaded the happy couple from planning what will almost certainly be ‘the wedding of the year!’

This weekend will see the two celebs tying the knot, or the bow, or what ever lesbians tie, in a small intimate ceremony with only a few close friends and family.

And if these two think that’s all the folks who’ll turn up to California’s first celebrity lesbian wedding, they need to think again!

Looking at the down side of this union, remember how Anne Heche,Ellen’s previous love interest, went from guy to Ellen and back to guy, lets just wait to see if Portia does a complete ‘U’ turn in the coming months!

Heche, who starred in the TV series, Ally McBeal, and DeGeneres were so committed at one point that they discussed pursuing a civil union in Vermont . But while DeGeneres was filming a comedy special, Heche met and fell in love with one of the cameramen, Coleman “Coley” Laffoon. She left DeGeneres, married Laffoon, and the two later they had a son together.

De Rossi, who also starred in Ally McBeal, was previously in a two-year marriage to documentary film maker, Mel Metcalfe.

Watch out Calista Flockhart, you may be called upon by Ellen someday!
