Southern gal Jessica Simpson suffered a rude awakening this past weekend whilst attending the Country Thunder USA Festival in Randall, Wisc.

Decked out in Daisy Dukes, a white button-down shirt and cowboy boots, the songbird was booed by audience members after performing tunes from her upcoming album Do You Know, which hits stores on September 9^th.

“I just don’t hear the country in her; I don’t hear the twang,” Kenosha News quoted one ticket holder as saying. “She’s not good enough to be here.”

Ouch!

“Just because she’s dating Tony Romo it doesn’t make her country,” 31-year-old Mike Rodriquez from Lake Geneva stated. “She doesn’t fit in with country, and I’ll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert.”

Fortunately for Miss Simpson, there were a few fans that enjoyed the set.

“I actually like her country songs better,” admirer Mary Grace told the previously mentioned publication. “She has a great voice, plus, she’s adorable.”
