Though music will always come first, Avril Lavigne has chosen to supply her loyal followers with designer back-to-school gear.

The ‘Abbey Dawn’ collection - which debuted exclusively at Kohl’s department stores across America this month - is part of the company’s “Inspired by the Artists…Worn by You” promotion; meant to appeal to a cross-generational group of shoppers.

Juniors’ and young men’s denim brands have united with popular musicians such as Lenny Kravitz, Vanessa Carlton and the Plain White T’s. However, Avril is the only one in the bunch who actually contributed to the campaign.

“My music and my clothes are really a reflection of who I am, and it’s been really cool to see that resonate with my fans,” Lavigne said of her new line.

Ranging from $24 to $48, the fashionable attire and jewelry is a marvelous mix of punk, reggae and feminine classics.

On a personal note, I work part-time at a Kohl’s in northern California and I can tell you first hand that the apparel is quite cute! Below are a few of my observations…

- Rhinestone embedded tank tops

- Dark purple zip hoodies with zebra stripes (I just had to buy one!!)

- Plaid skirts & other ‘Catholic School Girl’ garments

- Checkered capris

- Lightning bolt/star t-shirts
