What Jew think about a new mother, partner, Hollywood celebrity and actress of the up coming movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, putting her foot down to her future husband, and his family making requests for her to study Judaism in her spare time?
We’d say well done!
According the Daily Mail, the new mother and actress, Isla Fisher, is dealing with just that pressure from the parents of her boyfriend, Borat star, Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen’s parents seem to think that the movie business really shouldn’t play that big a part in Fisher’s life at the expense of her devoting her time to intensive studies of a Torah preparing for her Kiddushin, betrothal in the Jewish religion.
Somewhat hypocritical when one considers just how much Cohen rips into the Jews in his comedy sketches as both Borat and now Bruno.

One of Cohen’s most recent stunts involved Yossi Alpher, a political analyst and former Israeli spy, whom he duped into an interview posing as a German rock star, and while Alpher appeared baffled throughout the interview, afterwards it became clear it was the work of Sacha Baron Cohen.

During the mock interview Sacha bated Alpher by confusing Hamas (the Palestinian political movement) and hummus (a food), calling Muslims Hindus, and demanding to know when the Jews will return the pyramids.

So, what Jew think now about Isla Fisher’s decision to pursue acting as opposed to a new faith that will guarantee her a marriage to the biggest practical joker around?
