“I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.” On a beautiful Thursday morning at the end of June, Jamie Lynn Spears welcomed 7-pound 11-ounce Maddie Briann Aldridge into the world.

Much to our delight, after nearly three weeks of being holed up in her Louisiana home the actress has graciously posed for the cover of OK! magazine alongside her healthy & happy baby girl.

 The 17-year-old’s first interview since giving birth touches on everything from her daily schedule, to enrolling in parenting classes, to life as a brand new mom.

Here are some of the noteworthy highlights…

Discussing Maddie: “She is very good. She’ll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I’ll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There’s no screaming and crying.” A newborn that doesn’t cry? How convenient!

Her Day-To-Day: “We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I’ve worked one out with her, and we’re happy going about our little life.”

On Boyfriend Casey: “Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all. I was just talking to Casey. And you know what’s so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, ‘Yeah.’ We were both so excited.”

On Where She Sees Herself in Five Years: “I would love being the soccer mom. They don’t have soccer down here, but I would love being the softball mom driving the kids around.”
