PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - has a history of launching scathing attacks on some of today’s top stars.

 Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Madonna have each been caught up in disputes with the rigid organization, and now it appears that the baton of shame is being passed to Miss Jessica Simpson!

The “B.O.Y.” singer recently donned a T-shirt exhibiting the catchphrase ‘Real Girls Eat Meat,’ which naturally infuriated the association.

In response, a PETA representative released the following declaration:

“Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. ‘Chicken of the Sea’ anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food.”

Though the animal rights group wouldn’t perceive this as a viable excuse, a friend of Simpson’s asserts that the message was aimed at boyfriend Tony Romo’s former flame, Carrie Underwood, who holds the title of World’s Sexiest Vegetarian thanks to PETA.

“Jessica is sick of hearing about how Tony still has feelings for Carrie,” The New Zealand Herald quoted a source as saying. “She’s obviously trying to poke fun at her rival and let her know who really has Tony’s heart.”

As a form of retaliation, Underwood ought to sport a shirt with a little sass, something like – ‘Real Girls Don’t Dress Up Their Insecurities.’
