O.C. alumna Mischa Barton - who spent time in the drunk tank last December - has decided to plead “no contest” in her DUI case in order to skip out on hardcore jail time.
As a refresher, the 22-year-old previously acquired the following charges for her little slipup…

- One misdemeanor count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher
- One count of being an unlicensed driver
- One misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- One count of possession of marijuana, 28.5 grams or less
This coming Thursday the actress will spend a few grueling hours at the Beverly Hills court, where she is planning to agree to a three-year “unsupervised probation term.”
According to an insider for People.com, she will also be ordered to participate in a “three-month alcohol-education class” on top of having to dish out $1,700 to cover her fine.
The up side however, is that Barton’s marijuana possession charge is getting dropped and apparently the whole driving without a license issue is moot, as her charge will be “reduced to a fraction.”
Although it may sound like the 22-year-old is receiving celebrity treatment, a plea deal is standard for first-time offenders. Talk about getting off light for endangering the public.
“Obviously I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case,” Barton told Ryan Seacrest on January 10^th. “I’m really disappointed in myself. I don’t know what to say about it, except that I’m not perfect, and I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.”
Yeah we’ll just see how long that lasts!
