Destiny’s Child alumna Michelle Williams - who amazingly shares the same name with Heath Ledger’s ex - is breaking away from her gospel based harmonies by producing a brand new dance record appropriately titled Unexpected.

Yahoo News says that the experimental tunes have an electronic vibe with “bopping drums” and heavy bass. The singer’s previous albums include 2004’s hit Do You Know, and 2002’s Heart to Yours.

Although The Music World Entertainment/Columbia Records release is due out in August, Williams’ first single “We Break the Dawn” has already begun circulating and can be previewed on People.com.

� “Destiny’s Child fans bought Michelle’s last album (which sold 78,000 copies),” Music World CEO Matthew Knowles stated. “So now those fans are in their late 20s and early 30s. With Unexpected, she’ll be able to appeal to those fans and reach back to the 16-year-old audience and hit mainstream pop radio.”
