How would the world around you react if you were the one with the nose of a pig? I bet in this day and age, where the majority of people that get ahead in the world are good looking, the answer would be that they wouldn’t be too kind!

Penelope, (starring Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Catherine O’Hara, Robert E. Gant, and Reese Witherspoon) seems to be about the tale of the age-old saying, “beauty is only skin deep.” There’s much more to a person than what they look like from the outside.

Christina Ricci plays the part of a girl who is stricken by a deep, dark family curse and the only way to lift it is to find “the one,” perhaps her Prince Charming. The trailers also convey the message of self-exploration and “carpe diem” - live life to the fullest!

In my opinion, it looks absolutely adorable and like a modernized version of several of Walt Disney’s princess tales.
