Apart from the recent death of Heath Ledger this is probably one of the saddest pieces of information to come out the world of celebrity so far this year.
Patrick Swayzee, known for his ‘dirty dancing’ moves in the movie of the same name, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Patrick was given the news a month ago and since them rumours have abounded of him only having weeks to live. But his oncologist, Dr. George Fisher, has said the prognosis is not that bad and all of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue.
Swayzee, who had us all weeping as he spooked Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg in the 1990’s movie Ghost, is said to be responding well to treatment and has a very limited amount of disease thus far and no time has been put on his life expectancy.
The world of celebrity is right behind Patrick during his battle with this disease and wishes him well and the outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public has been said to be appreciated by Patrick and his family.

My daughter & I had a rough year when she was 15 (11 years ago) but Dirty Dancing pulled us together. To this day, we swing dance, wherever we are! and think of you in that last number. I don’t know where to mail the card I bought for you, but in two hearts here in CA, you are the sexiest, dancin’est, and biggest blessing in our lives.

You already know that you have lots of love, prayers and support. What you don’t know is that growing up, you are all that I watched, and I was written up in the local paper because of the “dirty dancing” I did at the homecoming party. I WISH that I could dance with Johnny Castle in the bedroom to that song “dun dun dun… dun” or to Love is Strange. I have been so saddened
since I heard the bad news..I sure hope you beat this Patrick you are to young to go through this.PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF and make the Doctors fight for you and your Recovery Dont give up!!!!!no matter what only god knows what is going to happen and pray to him each night to cure your body of this alful Disease.. you are such a great person and loved by everyone. may god be with you and your family each step of the recovery process and remember, You are so Loved…

keep telling yourself you will get over it,
prayers are with you and your family.
Someone dear to me has just been diagnosed and this week starts the same treatment as you, side effects can be worse than the actual disease, but remember, they will eventually go.

Well Pat, sorry for the bad news. I know you have a large amount of fans including, myself that wish for a miracle and miracles can only come from God so, through prayer may come healing. I’m 45 and I also, have health issues and too broke to visit a doctor but, on the other hand I don’t want to know the outcome. I just pray that my death won’t be long and painful. From a medical standpoint, if there is a cure for pancreatic cancer then I’m sure your life will be extended but, if not then I will race you to the end.
