Whether its acceptable or not, this is the way Michelle Williams, her friends, Heath’s family and Heath Ledger himself wanted his send off to be carried out in Perth Australia.

It was a somber entry to an excruciatingly painful event for all who attended, Michelle, Cate Blanchett, former girlfriend Gemma Ward, sister Kate, mother and father Kim.

But it was a bright sunny warm Australian day, and the happiness that all present had found in the short life of Heath just couldn’t keep itself hidden.

The guests laughed at tributes, short movie clips and memories spoken of in the eulogies and the sadness soon dissipated as mourners proceeded to Heath’s favourite beach, removed their clothes and plunged into the surf in celebration of Heath’s life.

No black dress for Michelle or Heath’s sister, only his parents wore black, which was probably more be fitting of their age than a comment on how they felt. T shirts and shorts for the guys, unshaven faces and plenty of bling adorned the ladies present.
Heath’s two year old daughter, Matilda, was not present but the gathered mourners were shown a montage of photos of Heath in happier times with his daughter.
The death of the star of the Brokeback Mountain movie at just 28 of an accidental prescription drug overdose on January 22nd, shocked Hollywood and a memorial in Los Angeles was attended by the Tinseltown’s A-list including Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes, Lindsay Lohan and John Hartnett.
