Listen up Tom Cruise enthusiasts – if you feel your favorite A-Lister has been wrongfully judged in recent weeks, breathe a sigh of relief: John Travolta’s got your back!

While appearing at Australia.com’s G’Day L.A event, which celebrated Australia Week 2008, the actor and fellow scientologist argued that the Cruise hatin’ is out of control, “[Tom] has – we all have – the right to practice how we feel,” he told People. “It finally becomes unfair.”

Update: Tom’s rep claims the highly-publicized “recruit” footage was filmed for a private church function that took place in 2004.

Travolta’s former Grease co-star Olivia Newton John was also in attendance to perform her hits “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “Physical,” and “I Honestly Love You.” When asked about the current condition of their friendship, John replied “We see each other a couple of times a year. I love seeing her. She’s awesome.”

At the end of Newton’s set, Travolta beamed from the stage and announced “Olivia, I love you. I honestly love you.”

C’mon, Grease 3, how ‘bout it guys?!
