Maybe it’s just as well the Golden Globes have been canceled and the Oscars are in doubt this year as most of the invited guests are currently in the maternity units of Los Angeles pushing, panting and screaming in an attempt to produce the next generation of big screen stars, models, singers and general Hollywood train wrecks!

First there was Courtney Thorne Smith who managed to push out a baby boy which she promptly named Jacob Emerson. Just as they wheeled her into recovery in comes Nicole Richie, kicking and screaming, but this time all for the good as she produced a baby girl for herself and boyfriend Joel Madden. They chose Harlow Winter Kate for their weird and wonderful baby name.

Just down the hall the dulcet tones of singing sensation Christina Aguilera could be heard, not practicing scales but welcoming her new arrival into the mad, mad world of celebrity. Christina and husband Jordan Bratman have yet to decide which gender they have produced!!! They have a 50% chance of getting it right. Go on, take a guess Chrissy!

But it doesn’t end there! Across the pond Paul McCartney’s daughter, Stella McCartney, has given birth to her third child whom she has named Beckett Robert Lee. No congratulations card or flowers are thought to have arrived yet from Stella’s stepmother from hell, Heather Mills!

And everyone’s favorite ‘Jenny on the block’, Jennifer Lopez is about to book her room in the maternity unit as the dreaded day of labor approaches for her and husband Marc Anthony. Just when we thought those hips couldn’t get any wider…..watch this space!

Altogether now, ahhhhhhhhhh!
But my favorite baby of the week has to be the tiny off spring of mummy Polar bear, Vilma. The little bundle of white fluff arrived a Nuremberg Zoo earlier this week and isn’t expected to ever be arrested for DUI, drugs or murder!
