2007 was a year of celebrity d-r-a-m-a and pregnancies. Isn’t that just the bestest combo ever?! Yeah, I didn’t think so either. But as the year comes to an end (and I’m kinda over all the sluts and a$$es from Britney Spears to Ashley Tisdale…), I’d like to keep my hopes and aspirations a-glow for some oldie but goodie clelebrities from the past. Here’s my top 5 list of stars who I’d like to see make a bitchin’ comeback in 2008 (in no particular order, mind you):

My Chemical Romance- Okay, I’m like a few years behind on hopping on the emo/punk/goth train but these guys really stood out from the rest of the posers out there in music land. I recently received “The Black Parade” from Santa Claus and lemme tell ya, I’m super impressed with the quality of musicianship, not to mention how the album just kinda flowed. It has to be a special kind of album that truly hits home with me and MCR definitely did that. I’d LOVE to see a new tour in the works for these punk-rockin’, death-lovin’ hotties!

James Van Der Beek- We all remember him as the ever-loveable and prude Dawson Leary on Dawson’s Creek eons ago, right? How could you not! Ugh, I feel so old just thinking about the show…as if! Anyway, I also loved him in the teen blockbuster Varsity Blues (wasn’t Van Der Beek a babe as a brunette?!) I’d like to see him come back in ‘08 with some more serious roles on televsion shows such as Dirty Sexy Money.

Courtney Love- As goofy as this lady is, she’s a rockin’ mama for all eternity! Her leadership of the band Hole has brought her to stardom, not to mention her infamous marriage to Kurt Kobain in the midst of the 1990s. I want to see her come out with a new album that is nothing like anything anyone has ever heard of!

David Bowie- This man has given us everything from cross dressing (aka his alter ego Ziggy Stardust) to classic duets with all-time faves such as Bing Crosby. As long as we’re on the topic of music, I’d like to see Bowie possibly collaborate with other super-stars in the music world. I think he’s due for a dance hit, don’t you agree?

Cheri Oteri- This funny gal has brought tears to our eyes and puddles to our undergarments for quite some time on SNL. I think my favorite role that she played was as a Spartan Cheerleader with Will Ferrell. I’d like Oteri to get back into her silly suit and just go to town!
Anyway, there are my picks for a hilarious and musical 2008! Happy New Year!
