Mr. Big is not dead.
Despite reports that Mr. Big will drop dead of a massive heart attack in the opening scenes of the Sex and the City movie, director Michael Patrick King is saying not to break out the black dress and Puffs.
“There is no need for funeral arrangements,” said King. “I assure you that Mr. Big is a very `big’ part of the Sex and the City movie.”
The aging Chris Noth, 50, will once again play patsy to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in the movie filming this fall in New York and set to storm the silver screen in 2008. Speculation is that if Noth is not to die then the film could center on the long awaited marriage of these two characters.
Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will also reprise their roles for the resurrected sex romp to be distributed by New Line Cinema in association with HBO.
Parker and King have assured that the movie will stay true to the original series characters and their personalities. The downside to that, however, is that these actresses were not young when the show was on the air, and have aged heavily in the last several years.
One can only hope there is an on set dermatologist for emergency Botox and Restylane injections.
Not to mention orthopedists to make sure the aged actresses ankles don’t snap while teetering around in $600 4-inch Manolo Blahniks.
Do I really need to see these girls’ get laid again? Seriously, I am cringing. It’s like watching your grandmother take off a male stripper’s thong with her teeth.
Ick.
Noth will have to abandon his dignity for this one. Since the series ended he has been playing über serious Detective Mike Logan on NBC’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Where he has let his grey hair come in and has bags under his eyes big enough to smuggle produce.
