Kari Byron – charismatic, beautiful and exceptionally talented. Although it is known that the Mythbuster extraordinaire has an artist’s touch, only a handful of her fans have had the pleasure of viewing her work.

On September 3, 2004 Byron made her solo debut in a San Jose art gallery with her “Stray Doll” exhibition. Her sculptures come from a place of compassion as her days as a backpacker landed her among individuals who she describes as being “ground up by society.”

Of her work, Kari has been quoted as saying – “Some of the most beautiful bird calls are cries of distress and fear… these sculptures are a way for me to express my cry. We live in a strange and scary world; my artwork is a way for me to quarantine the world into a more manageable space.”
The materials most commonly used by Kari include wood, metal, polymer clay, acrylic gouache, and found objects.
