Posted under Free for All & Heath Ledger & Cate Blanchett & Bob Dylan & Christian Bale

Jack Nicholson may be furious with Heath Ledger for stealing his role in the new Batman movie, but we just have one thing to say to Heath… “Take out your gum, man!”
The dashingly disheveled actor was on hand the other night at the fabulous I’m Not There Bob Dylan tribute concert in NYC, sporting his trademark I’m-scruffy-but-cute look as he introduced a few of the acts. Someone must have told him about his snapping gum reverberating throughout the Beacon theater after his first appearance - the second time we got a glimpse of him he seemed to have spit it out… or swallowed…
Alas, no sign of Cate Blanchett or Christian Bale (sigh), but of course the real stars of the night were the musicians - for you indie music lovers out there check out Billboard’s account of the evening, or feast your eyes on the awesome pictures over at Pitchfork.
Personally, I can’t decide who I have the biggest crush on - Tift Merrit (google her) or the guy from Gomez… you could feel the collective sigh from the ladies (and a few men) in the audience as he left the stage.
Notably absent of course: Bob Dylan himself. But what do you expect for a concert based on a film called I’m Not There?
The film itself hits theaters later this month… you know I’ll be there!

I love Dylan, but the soundtrack covers in no way would even compare to his 30th anniversary album. And I think Heath could make a damn good Joker.
