Celebrities in Malibu, California did not have a quiet weekend.

A raging wildfire put some of our favorite celebs in jeopardy over the weekend. Titanic director James Cameron and Grease alumni Olivia Newton John were both evacuated, and there are many more celebs in the Malibu area whose homes were endangered. Numerous homes along Pacific Coast Highway were evacuated and Pacific Coast Highway was completely closed down as the flames encroached.

Residents include: Jennifer Aniston, Sting, Bill Murray, Nick Nolte, Robin Wright Penn, Mel Brooks, Howie Mandel, Tatum O’Neal, Rob Reiner, Goldie Hawn, Linda Ronstadt, Jeff Bridges, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.

While mandatory evacuations were implemented in some areas as the flames crossed to beach front homes, all residents (including the above celebs) were asked to voluntarily leave their homes as the fast moving fire, flamed by Santa Ana winds, became increasingly unpredictable as Sunday worn on.

Landmark Hodge Castle, also known as Malibu Castle and owned by socialite Lilly Lawrence, burnt to the ground. The castle was also home to a collection of priceless Elvis Presley memorabilia.

Pepperdine University students were also evacuated as parts of the campus were a wall of flames.
