Lovin’ Lhuillier

Posted under Free for All & fashion & Vera Wang & Dita Von Teese & Kristen Bell & Rebecca Gayheart & Michelle Trachtenberg & Maria Menounos

monique.jpgIt seems like there’s always a new celeb fave when it comes to up-and-coming designers. Of course, they stick by their favorite classics like Chanel or Vera Wang - but when there’s a new trend on the horizon it seems like it takes all of five minutes for the new designer to become popular. Which must be great for them - but makes keeping up kind of difficult!!

Enter Monique Lhullier. Red carpet stylist-to-the-stars. Fans that run the gamut from the likes of Dita Von Teese to California’s first lady Maria Schriver.

Von Teese shared why she loves putting on Lhullier dresses (the designer’s signature piece) so much, “”I love the details of her dresses. They are the sort of thing that are reminiscent of the past, yet modernized. And I love the fabrics, all the brocades and the embroidery, they are really rich and wonderful.”

This week in LA, Lhullier opened a boutique on the corner of Melrose Place and La Cienega teeming with wedding gowns (seen lusting over them were Kristen Bell and Kate Mara), dresses, and other gorgeous girl apparel. And of course, some of her die hard fans were in attendance - all wearing Lhuillier dresses, naturally.

Maggie Grace and Jud Tylor sifted through jewel-toned evening gowns while Rebecca Gayheart and Jessica Collins went straight for the day wear collection.

Michelle Trachtenberg, Shiva Rose, Perrey Reeves, Becki Newton, Rachel Nichols, Melissa Sagemiller, and Maria Menounos were there to show their love and support for Lhuillier - who is the latest go-to gal for dressing the celeb elite.

Or, dare we say, flash in the pan?

Lhuillier’s take on it all?

“I have the eye to make them look chic and feminine at the same time,” Lhuillier explained. “And every time I dress someone for the red carpet, it is very much a collaboration. I steer them away from things that are not for them, and to the styles and shapes that will make them shine.”
